Opening ceremony

A grand opening of the Foundation for the Promotion of Russian-Macedonian Relations took place in Moscow on March 20, 2019. The opening was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Macedonia to the Russian Federation Mr. G.Karayanov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Republic of Macedonia in 2006-2011 V.D. Solotsinsky, representatives of the Council of Federation and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the Foundation «Ruskimir», the Foundation for the Support of Public Diplomacy «A.M. Gorchakov», Balkan Club MGIMO, as well as social and scientific circles and the business community of Russia.

The event was opened by the performance of the children's choir ensemble «Melody», which sang Macedonian folk songs.

The guests of the meeting were addressed by the founders of the Foundation Zharova Inna and Tretyakova Maria, who emphasized that the Foundation did not come out of thin air - this event was preceded by 13 years of fruitful work to bring the Russian and Macedonian people closer by organizing various cultural, sports and other events. The founders voiced the goals and objectives of the Foundation and shared plans for future projects.

A welcoming address was made by the Ambassador of the Republic of Macedonia in the Russian Federation G.Karayanov. Congratulating the founders on the official start of the Foundation’s work, he stressed the importance of developing strong cultural, spiritual, scientific, educational and business ties between the Macedonian and Russian peoples, which should serve as a guarantee for the development of closer and stronger relations between the two countries.

The trustee of the Foundation, N. Y.Grishko, addressed the audience, expressing his readiness to help in every possible way the implementation of future initiatives and projects of the Foundation aimed at building up cultural ties between the Macedonian and Russian peoples.

The solemn part of the event was completed with the performance of the Transfiguration male chamber choir, who performed Russian folk songs.
